TESTIMONIALS

Knowing the therapeutic and restorative effects of massage for people, I was curious to see how canine massage would work. Riley is a relatively healthy 9 year old cockapoo. I would like to keep him as active and healthy as possible. Riley just finished out 5th massage with Doug. With his friendly and confident demeanor, Doug quickly gained Riley's trust. Doug is very patient and never pushes beyond the Riley's comfort level. Once Doug starts the massage, Riley sits or stands perfectly still (how many dogs will do that?). After the massage, Riley is calm and a little sleepy, but you can tell he feels great!  - J.H.

We are proud owners of two female rescue dogs Cammie (9 years) and Maya (3 years). Both are lab/pit mixes and normally aren't fond of other dogs or men. I was impressed with Doug's approach, giving the dogs space when they needed it and not pushing them beyond their boundaries. Doug definitely earned their trust and affection. He worked on their whole bodies including their jaws, ribcage, ears and butt. I was surprised at how relaxed both dogs became and how much they seemed to enjoy the massage. After a couple of sessions Doug was able to use deeper, more therapeutic strokes to help their more tense muscles. Doug has also taught me a few relaxing techniques to use on Cammie and Maya. I'm happy to be able to give our dogs some extra work that helps them with someone I trust. The results are beneficial and our girls really enjoy it.  - R.S.

I have an elderly, special needs, Springer Spaniel named Calvin. He's a 16 year old rescue dog who is blind from abuse. I was curious how canine massage can work with a senior dog, specifically to ease Calvin's stress and to help keep Calvin mobile. Calvin gets a little jumpy if he his not familiar with some People and other dogs, but Doug became friends with him quickly. Calvin was a little unsure at the beginning of the massage and he moved around a bit but Doug moved around with him and worked with what Calvin allowed. As the massage continued Calvin was more relaxed and even sat still toward the end. Each time since Calvin has gotten better and allows more and more work on him. I can tell he is more calm after the massage and that he is happy with his big smile and his tail wagging.  - L.S.
